Best Wine List on Maui

This entry is part 24 of 32 in the series 2010 Best of Maui

Best Wine List
Son’z at Swan Court

Honua Kai Resort & Spa - Son’z at Swan CourtFor the third year in a row, Son’z at Swan Court has uncorked the “BestWine List onMaui.”What a beautiful setting in which to sip, say, a silky syrah.

Located at the Hyatt RegencyMaui Resort & Spa in Kaanapali, Son’z has been described by Robin Leach as the “most romantic restaurant in the world,” because of soaring-to-the-sky ceilings, dramatic staircase and dining roomthat is open and overlooks a lagoon with waterfalls and swans.

Sommelier Ari Gurunian will be happy to lead you through the 25-page wine list and the 3,000-bottle cellar that’s also a multiple winner ofWine Spectator’s “Award of Excellence.” Hemay suggest you savor island snapper piccata with artichokes, caper berries.

Lisbon lemon in an overnight tomato puree with a Pahlmeyer chardonnay from Napa. Or swirl a nice, big KenWright Cellars Canary Hill Vineyard pinot noir fromOregon, paired with Olowalu vine-ripened tomato salad with gorgonzola-walnut pate, extra virgin olive oil and Kula strawberry and white-balsamic reduction.

Enjoy wines by the glass and half bottles, too. There’s something for every aficionado. This is the sister restaurant of Nick’s FishmarketMaui and Sarento’s on the Beach.
