Weddings on the Maui Beach

Up until August 2008, the above was a common sight on Maui – I remember walking with my wife on the beach and watching the wedding coordinators setting up a wedding chapel right on the beach.  Sadly those days are gone.

Today’s Maui beach weddings have the ceremony performed on the beach with the couple, minister, and entourage standing near by.  No chairs or arches nor disturbance of the sand can take place.

Don’t get me wrong many weddings take place on the Maui beach yearly, but the larger ones now must take place at a place designed for weddings.  The beach in front of the Honua Kai is perfect for a wedding – no need to go anyplace else really.  I’m listing a number of links to wedding planners that do offer beach weddings:

I guess you could find a nicer beach for the wedding; why bother – every beach on Maui is fantastic.
