Hi – I am considering Honua Kai for a family vacation at the end of November. Can you update me as to the state of construction? Is there noticable noise? How many pools are open? Has the restaurant opened yet? Thanks for any info you can give!
Hi – Dukes opens at Christmas time. Construction has really slowed. When you make your reservation just say you want to be on the other side (south) of the building. Only the one pool is open right now – don't know when the others will be opened. Hope this helps and hope you have a great time at the Honua Kai.
Can you advise as to an update as of Dec. 2009 as to pools open, or other construction issues? Also, is there a fee for use of the exercise room?
thanks
The closest educated guess I get is that everything will be up and running in January 2010. No fee for the exercise room.
Thanks for the questions..

What's the status of the construction site between the HK buildings and the road? I think Intrawest considers it phase 3; they look a bit like houses or duplexes in the Master Plan. We are planning a trip for late May and trying to figure out the best room from among our options.
I'm at the Honua Kai right now and the area you talk about has been planted as grass – Inrawest looks like it will wait for a while before developing the homes.
There is NO active construction taking place near the Honua Kai right now.
Of course I'd recommend our 1-bedroom villa for your needs – http://www.honuakaicafe.com/book-our-villa but that's up to you.
Good luck
